The MkV Final Edition Supra is the sports car’s way of saying goodbye
Toyota has already confirmed that the Supra is leaving production after Spring 2026, but ahead of production’s end, the automaker has announced a special version. The Supra MkV Final Edition brings a choice selection of performance and cosmetic bits that give the car a little more bite and lots more attitude. While the powertrain goes untouched—still the familiar 382-horsepower turbocharged inline-six sourced from BMW—the new MkV Final Edition does feature upgraded Brembo brakes and a ducktail carbon fiber rear spoiler for better stopping power and downforce.

Perhaps more meaningful are the significant suspension changes Toyota brings to the MkV Final Edition Supra. Revised camber settings, retouched electronically controlled shocks, a new front stabilizer bar, retuned dampers, and new bushings throughout the car should provide commensurate handling improvements. Furthermore, the automaker says the MkV Final Edition Supra gets recalibrated differential software and “optimized” power steering tuning.
There are a handful of aesthetic additions to the car, too. The MkV Final Edition gets exclusive 19-inch matte black wheels and gloss carbon fiber mirror caps. The interior gets some cool touches, too, including Alcantara on the driver’s seat and red stitching on the gear selector. Customers can also opt for a graphics package inspired by the GR Supra GT4 Evo2 race car, which features a GR graphic, some additional blacked-out trim pieces, and red mirror caps. Toyota will also include a car cover with every MkV Final Edition. Nice.

Or, it would be nice if we didn’t already know about the A90 Final Edition Supra that Japanese and European markets will see. When specs leaked for that car back in December of 2024, Car and Driver reported that “a version of [the car] will be coming to the US market.” Unfortunately, it looks like this might be “that version,” and it falls short of expectations if you’re familiar with the A90 Final Edition.
Unlike the MkV Final Edition, the A90 Final Edition gets a serious power boost, with a bump to 429 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. A special vented hood, a KW suspension system borrowed from the GT4 Supra, and a swan-neck rear wing add to the car’s race car cred. There are considerable upgrades elsewhere, but we’ll spare you the gratuitous details, instead leaving you with four words to salivate about: carbon fiber bucket seats.

Final thoughts
While the US-bound MkV Final Edition Supra isn’t nearly as dedicated as the A90 Final Edition seen elsewhere in the world, it should still be the best-handling version of the Toyota (er, BMW?) sports car yet. And there’s technically still a little time left for Toyota to bring a hotter version of the Supra Stateside, with around a year left until production ends. We feel like we’re missing out, but something is better than nothing. What ever happened to that GRMN Supra model, anyway, Toyota?
